Public Notice

 Availability of Draft Brownfields Cleanup Grant Application and Draft Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives; 

Public Comment Period, October 30 to November 13, 2023; and 

Public Meeting, November 6, 2023, 7pm at the Westbrook High School, Room 114

Riverwalk North

 The City of Westbrook plans to apply for a Brownfields Cleanup Grant from the United States Environmental Agency (EPA) to address surficial soil contamination associated with the Riverwalk North site located along the north side of the Presumpscot River from Saccarappa Island to Cumberland Street.

 The public is welcome to review and comment on the draft Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA) and a draft of the Brownfields Cleanup Grant application to be submitted to the EPA. Comments can be submitted until November 13, 2023. 

 Review of the ABCA document, the draft application, and previous environmental assessment documents for the Site, can be arranged with Robyn Saunders at (207) 854-0660 x3014 or rsaunders@westbrook.me.us. Written comments can be submitted to Robyn Saunders at the email address provided above. 

A Public Meeting concerning the draft ABCA and on the draft cleanup grant application of the Riverwalk North Site will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023 at 7:00 PM during the City Council Meeting, at the Westbrook High School, 125 Stroudwater Street, Room 114. Public comments on the draft ABCA and on the proposed remediation will be accepted at this meeting.
