Portland Paddle Launches Second Location on the Presumpscot River in Westbrook
PORTLAND, Maine (June 18, 2014) – Portland Paddle, a sea kayak and stand-up paddleboard (SUP) outfitter based at Portland's East End Beach, is partnering with the City of Westbrook to offer paddling opportunities on the Presumpscot River this summer. Starting on Saturday, June 21 at 11am, the company will rent out recreational and sit-on-top kayaks, as well as stand-up paddleboards, from Riverbank Park in downtown Westbrook. Paddlers can enjoy a beautiful stretch of the Presumpscot River between Saccarappa Falls and the historic Elms. The calm water of the Presumpscot makes it an ideal paddling location for all skill levels. It will also be possible to transport your rental boards and kayaks to Lincoln Street and enjoy the five mile splendor of the river from Westbrook to Windham.
Portland Paddle on the Presumpscot will be open from 11 am to 7 pm on Saturdays and Sundays and 12 pm to 7 pm on Wednesdays throughout the summer. On Wednesday evenings Riverbank Park will also play host to a variety of local musicians through Westbrook's Summer Concert Series, providing the opportunity to enjoy live music while exploring the river. https://www.westbrookcommunitycenter.org/info/activities/program_details.aspx?ProgramID=30032
