Tasks Related to the Finance department include:


Property Taxes1 – Tax Collection – real estate, personal property, and excise tax

2 – Treasury Management – cash management, payroll & accounts payable processing

3 – Accounting & Auditing – manages the general fund, 100+ special revenue funds and grants, 50+ ongoing capital projects, two enterprise funds, and over 20 private purpose funds

4 – Budget Development – works with administration and department heads to prepare the annual general fund budget, special revenue budgets, and the two enterprise budgets (Sewer and Parking Garage)

5 – Information Technology – works closely with 3rd party vendor to ensure the City’s technology needs are being met, manages implementation projects and continues to develop internal policies & procedures


Our finance department has a staff of 9 employees. The front office consists of: the tax collector, tax accounting clerk and three customer service representatives, while the comptroller, accountant and treasury accounting clerk work in our offices located in the center of the building.
