Hands Free Law Event
Tuesday, September 17, 2019
On Tuesday, September 17, 2019, between 4pm-7pm, at the Westbrook Public Safety Building, 570 Main St., the Westbrook Police Department will offering motorists assistance in connecting their vehicle’s Bluetooth technology to their cell phones.
This community event is in anticipation of the new “hands-free” law going into effect September 19th. It is being created at the suggestion of Westbrook resident, Hank McCarvel.
Westbrook PD will be partnering with local insurance companies, car dealerships, and cell phone stores with the intent of having plenty of tech-savvy staff on hand to assist motorists with connecting their technology and minimizing the wait time.
Motorists do not have to be Westbrook residents. We will help whoever shows up. And, if the demand is high, we will likely schedule future tech-connection events for motorists in the coming weeks. All with the goal of helping people drive safely and be in voluntary compliance with the new law.
This is a FREE event.
