Get a Library Card
Walker Memorial Library Cards
Walker Memorial Library cards are available at no charge to all Westbrook residents, taxpayers, students attending Westbrook schools, and employees of Westbrook businesses. Library cards are available to non-residents for a $25.00 annual fee.
To obtain a library card:
- Visit the Walker Memorial Library.
- Bring your picture I.D. and proof of mailing and residential addresses (utility bill, voter’s registration card, etc.).
- If you are age 12 or younger, your parent or guardian must be present and provide identification.
- If you work or are a student in Westbrook, bring proof of Westbrook employment/school ID.
Portland Public Library Cards
Residents of York and Cumberland County are entitled to a free Portland Public Library card. Walker Memorial Library is a Partner Agency Library (PAL) of Portland Public Library which serves as the Area Reference & Resource Center for the Southern Maine Library District. Walker Memorial Library staff can issue cards to Westbrook residents who show photo identification and proof of residency. Once active, cards may be used for all services of the Portland Public Library including on-line services such as Chilton’s, Hoopla (free downloads of movies, music and audiobooks), Mango Languages, business research tools and much more.
Maine State Library Cards
Free Maine State Library cards can be requested online by Maine residents for database use and/or borrowing privileges. MSL provides access to Maine state documents and genealogical records and offers a circulating and reference collection with a special focus on Maine topics and works by Maine authors.
