Citizens Police Academy

Citizens Police Academy

Ever wanted to know more about what your local police department does, or what your hometown officers do on a daily basis?  Here is your chance.  The Westbrook Police Department is hosting a Citizens Police Academy.

Participants will receive 3 hours of training on Wednesday evenings (6:00 pm to 9:00 pm) for 10 weeks.  The classes begin on February 14.

The Citizens Police Academy will allow citizens to experience some of the highlights of police training and be exposed to the operation of the police department.  Some of the areas of instruction are: criminal and motor vehicle law, search and seizure, patrol and criminal investigation techniques, use of force, and community policing efforts.

All of the classes are taught by employees of the police department, and participants will have the opportunity to meet and talk with officers of the department.

To apply, please fill out the application below and return it to the Westbrook Police Department.  If you have further questions, please feel free to contact Sergeant Tim Morrell at tmorrell@westbrook.me.us or at 207-854-0644 x2526.
